Quality Stereo Earphones and In Ear Headphones

Stereo earphones and in ear headphones are usually considered an accessory in themselves… an accessory to the Ipod or cell phone. However, as more and more people are discovering the true enjoyment of being an audiophile (a music lover, especially with their Ipod’s and other MP3 players), they are discovering the value that a earpiece with great sound provides.  Not only in reducing exterior sound but by creating an environment to truly enjoy music.

As such, these new earphones are becoming better and better sounding and more and more manufacturers are bringing out their own models. Makers such as: Shure, SkullCandy, Ultimate Ears, Sony, Panasonic, Etymotic Research and many others.

So,what kind of accessories can an audiophile get for his or her favorite music device?

Carrying cases are a must-have. It can be very frustrating when you’re traveling and not being able to find your earphone. Nothing’s worse than being on an airplane and watching, or trying to watch the television while reading lips! A carrying case can be as simple as a little bag to keep them in, or one of the specially made included with your earphones.  Shure and Ultimate ears include very nice cases.

Cable clips are a great way to keep your cables from getting out of control as you listen to music. If there is sudden movement while plugged in, it can mess up your hair, pull off your glasses! Clips keep your cables out of harm’s way.

Also, any time you have an intricate piece of machinery you’ll need replacement parts. It’s no different with an earphone. The most common replacement parts include jacks, cables, and ear pads, all of which can become detached from the headset with excessive use. If you just own a cheap set, you could probably buy a new better sounding set for less money than the replacement parts. But if you are a serious audiophile and you want serious sound, you’ll also want some replacement parts just in case the music makes you dance too hard!

Lastly, consider getting some rubber alcohol or cleaning solution to keep your equipment clean, especially the ear pieces.  They can get a wax can build up pretty fast and may block the sound holes so you’re not getting the best sound. Keep your stereo earphones clean and you’ll enjoy them more besides getting better sound.
