Sennheiser Headphones are one of the most amazing pieces of technology ever to be available to the consumer, and make a great present to give to yourself or anyone you love. They outdo many other brands that are out right now, and can be found in a decent price range as well. This particular brand works hard to make sure the customer is number one, and has done so with their fantastic line of headphones that work great for almost any use. They are user friendly, stylish, and the list just goes on and on. A little background…this company is known for their excellent German quality.
#1 Block Out Background Noise
Have you ever been listening to your favorite song with your noise cancelling version and then a bus goes by or someone is talking loud next to you and you miss your favorite part? Well that won’t happen with this headphone brand. it cuts and can keep outside noise outside, making it much easier and more enjoyable to listen to music almost anywhere.
#2 Great design
Unlike most other headphone companies on the market, these ones are simple yet stylish. They have only a few buttons that cover the necessities, yet look great enough to take with you anywhere when on the go. They are full-sized yet lightweight and easy to take with you, making them the ultimate package when looking for the perfect headphone brand to stick with for life.
#3 Comfortable
Wrapped in comfortable padding and fabric, the Sennheiser headphones, like the PXC-250 are a must have. They won’t get uncomfortable after wearing them for a few songs, especially since they cradle your ears to provide the ultimate listening experience. Their lightweight design makes it seem like they aren’t even there, so you can listen during many of your normal day-to-day activities. In fact, with the wireless and cordless versions, you’ll be listening and doing your stuff and not even know you have them on.
#4 Very User Friendly
Even though the latest in technology in sound reductions over the past few years have been absolutely amazing, it is sometimes nice to be able to easily use a product to its full extent. That is possible when you purchase this brand of headphone, since there are no crazy buttons or menus to fidget around with. The necessary dials, such as volume, power, and tuning dial, are all included, making it possible to listen to music without having to spend hours reading an owner’s manual. They can be used right out of the packaging, and are great for anyone who is technology-illiterate.
#5 Durability
Get rid of the worry and concern about them dropping or accidentally breaking, since the strong design makes them durable and ready to take on the world. They are great for taking on the go because they can be thrown into a purse or bag with no problem, or you can even throw them around your neck for a short outing. Don’t worry about your children with this particular brand, because the padded headband is strong yet lightweight at the same time. They are very well worth the money you spend that can be passed on to future generations, as long as they are taken care of and not abused.
#6 Ambient Sound Capability
You will never have to worry about not being able to hear your friends talking or your cell phone ringing, since tiny microphones are used to pick up and transmit ambient sound to the user. The tiny microphones can distinguish close important sounds such as a conversation from background sounds, making it possible to have an amazing listening experience. The important noise is heard and the annoying stuff gets left behind.
They are currently the most comfortable, stylish, durable, and user friendly phones on the market right now, and have features that no other company can offer. Remember, when looking at a headphone, you want to purchase the best quality you can afford. Why is that important? Ear safety! The cheap models, because of their poor sound require the volume to be turned up higher…thus damaging the ears. The Sennheiser headphones wireless RS-130 have an amazing price that can be afforded by many, but leave people feeling like they are living the luxurious life.

Shure headphones. As a company, this top quality company has long been known among musicians and the music industry for their incredibly high quality microphones that have become somewhat of a standard for recording or live performance. This industry leader now brings its high quality products into the headphone and earphone arena… and they certainly deliver everything you could want for top quality music.
Why this brand?
Making use of their powerful Sound Isolating technology in their earphones to provide a unique quality… that’s far beyond what the most expensive earbuds can offer, and beyond what even the best headphones could give. Isolation was originally created as an in-ear monitoring system for musicians during live performances (it allowed them to hear their performance clearly without cheering from the crowd, venue or interference of the other instruments.)
This company from Chicago now brings this technology to the average user. It works by using flexible sleeves that block the background noise and direct a high-performance definitive sound straight into the ear.
Shure’s earphone designs are fantastic in the way they deliver through their listening designs. Usually they either rest on your ear or your head, and normal earbuds are just placed on the outside of the ear. Instead of going the conventional route, Shure has designed their devices to create a separate listening area within the ear by having the earbuds fit directly into the ear canal.
The soft, flexible sleeves on these are able to mold to your ear shape and therefore create a seal around the ear. This way, all outside noise is completely blocked out and your ears feel comfortable in every respect, meaning there is no listening fatigue or irritation from the earbud (s).
Isolation vs Cancellation
When comparing noise cancellation technology (which many cans have) and isolation technology, sound isolating technology is better in many respects. First, you get a pristine high-definition sound from the earphone design. Cancellation headphones are usually battery driven, heavier and of course much larger than earbuds. Second, this cancellation technology makes use of a process that cuts off certain frequencies within the music, and therefore brings in unwanted noise of a different sort (hissing, cracking etc.) This technology does not tamper with the original highs and lows of the music, but provides the best quality directly into the ear.
Specific Models:
Shure’s earphone products all come with isolating technology, and each model is created with a specific genre and user in mind. The SE modular earphones from Shure are ideal for all kinds of music listening, whether it be your MP3 device, hi-fi, Ipod or computer. The Shure E-Series: E2C, E3C, E4C, E5C is designed specifically to provide the ultimate in top quality for gamers, delivering all the tiniest of elements and sounds straight into your ear during your gaming experience. Outside sounds are completely blocked out, so you can fully immerse yourself in the game world.
The I-Series: I2C, I3C, provide a full range for your mobile media and entertainment – ideal for your both mobile communication and mobile listening experience. Isolating technology is the best choice to listen to music while traveling, exercising, driving or any activity outside of a controlled environment.
Wireless Headphones
Their product line ranges are also wireless and cordless, which has an uncomparable advantage compared to wired sets. Too many times have cords become entangled and broken through regular use, rendering the them useless. They produce excellent wireless sets for convenience, quality and affordability. The ultimate quality continues to be delivered through Shure products, and this is just a small fraction of what they are producing. Try them out today, you’ll be glad you did.

Today’s headphones are an integral part of every audio device……from the phone, to the computer to the iPod and everything in between. These versatile devices improves our lives with the many great uses they do for you and I. From giving us mobility and privacy, as well as being compatible with computers to enjoy our video games with great sound. What are headphones? Simple answer? They basically comprise a pair of transducers that receive the audio signal from whatever music device they’re connected to and convert those signals into sound waves to make the music and sounds we enjoy so much.
We can choose from many designs.
1. Circumaural… these are big and cover your ears. Examples: Sennheiser 695, Ultrasone Proline 750, AKG K701. These are normally considered to be the “best” of the “best in sound. They are the largest physically so not well suited to carrying with your Ipod, but also provide the highest sound quality.
2. Supra aural… these go on top of your ears. Examples: Sennheiser PXC300, Koss Porta Pro, Sennheiser PXC250. Somewhat smaller size than the circumaural. Many times this design is used in noise cancelling headphones.
3. Canalphones… these go inside the ear canals and because they block outside noise are called passive noise reducing earphones. Examples: Ultimate Ears Super FI5, Shure E5C, Etymotic Research ER-4.
Compact and portable with very good sound quality.
4. Earbuds… are the main type that normally come with iPods. They go in the outer ear and sort of just hang there. Normally considered the poorest quality and most dangerous to a person’s hearing.
Why? Because they don’t block any outside noise. So, to hear them properly the volume is usually turned up to dangerous hearing levels. Usually average to poor sound quality.
There are different drivers in a headphone. (the drivers are what make the sound quality either good or bad). Drivers range from the cheapest ferrite dynamic driver to better electrostatic diaphragms.
Other factors on which you can choose the headphone are the backing and how you want to wear them.
1. Open backing… Will not usually give good sound quality due to the surrounding disturbances (outside noise).
2. Closed backing… blocks outside noise better than the open backed ones.
Remember, try to get the best headphone you can afford. Not only will get better listening enjoyment, the better headphones can actually protect your hearing more than the cheaper quality (means more volume) sound devices.

Wireless headphones…I had to fly commercial airline flight not too long ago, and of course I took along my cans so I could listen to my favorite music and watch the movie on the airplane. The person sitting next to me had to get up, and when he did, his sleeve caught on the wire of my headset and tore off the wire.
Not the best way to make friends on an airplane!…and this isn’t the first time that wires have become entangled and useless for me. But, of course many companies are coming to the rescue to make these cordless cans. Check out some of the best names in manufacturing, including Sennheiser, Shure, Koss and many others to see them in action.Cans have come a long way! I remember in the 80’s when they had a radio built right in (with a giant antenna) and it took two to four batteries. As you can imagine, those “state of the art” devices looked more like something from a “B” grade movie than anything we use today!
Now, wireless headphones are barely noticeable. If the person uses the earbud or canalbud style, you can’t even tell that they’re listening to their favorite news station (although that might explain why they’re dancing around like maniacs). Different manufacturers have different qualities. They are SO great in the car! If you’re driving down the highway and you get a call on your bluetooth, having a hands-free option so you can keep both hands on the steering wheel is a very good idea.
These are increasing in popularity and you see all the time now, people walking around with small metallic devices on their ear. If you don’t already know, they hook over the ear and a small microphone reaches to their cheek, which can pick up their conversation. They are also useful in an office setting where a receptionist can walk around (perhaps delivering the mail) while still being able to answer and talk on the phone.
Although major advancements are being made in the headphone industry for these, for the music lover who loves to listen to music and tries to attain a near theatre quality sound, a circumaural headphone might be a better choice. However, these powerful devices require a power source and may not receive enough power from batteries in the headphones themselves. This will change in the near future but it may not be there just yet for the true music aficionado…
For the rest of us, they are just the correct amount of convenience and quality to hear the sounds we want to hear. One more thing: Its important to remember to keep the volume down a little on your wireless headphones and save your hearing!
